ChristAid Projects That Need Your Support
Pay it Forward Project
This project gives another opportunity
to improve the lives of many people in Uganda, Africa. What
we do is to collect physical donations, load them in a 40
foot container and send it by steam ship to Kenya than by
truck to Uganda. Once it has cleared customs and all
paperwork is in order a team of volunteers organize and
distribute donations across the country. With each
container
God’s grace has been abundant through the enormous
challenges that come up in a project of this nature. We
began collecting books for a small library in 2003 and now
to date we have shipped over 50,000 books including hundreds
of bibles, hymnals, and Christian literature for all
ages. Libraries have been set up in villages and classrooms
in schools have been filled with encyclopedias, text books
for all ages from first grade level through college covering
everything from math, science, English and history to
engineering with school supplies and teacher materials
included. Hundreds of soccer balls, uniforms, shoes and
other sports equipment have given the youth a new
outlook. Sewing machines with all the supplies, garden tools
along with thousands of vegetable and fruit seeds have
helped to change lives of the poverty stricken of all ages
in countless villages around Uganda.
Right now our focus for donations collected are in 3 basic categories; Education (both spiritual and general) Vocation and Medical. By centering on these 3 areas we hope to give people of all ages the tools to help them to provide and care for themselves.
Our goal is to reach into the villages to give the poor of Uganda a “hand up “and not just a “hand out.” This task can only be achieved through the kindness and generosity of caring people like you, taking the blessings given to you and paying them forward and I thank you.
We are busy collecting physical
donations along with financial support. The total cost of
completing a shipment is at this time $20,000 to $23,000
depending on when we ship, what the
cost
of gasoline is at the time and many other factors (the cost
of a gallon of gas can be as much as $8.00 per
gallon). Included in this figure is ground transportation
(by both rail and road) to get to and from port, steam ship
transport, and renting many trucks, hiring drivers and the
fuel cost to distribute all donations.
The overwhelming success of the Pay It Forward Project is a testament of God’s provision to those in need in Uganda and once again I would like to extend a personal thank you for your support of this program. If you have any questions please email me or call me at the Christaid Inc. office 303-463-2932.

peace be with you, LuAnn Zimmermann Pay It Forward Project Coordinator |

ChristAid Academy, Kicuna, Uganda
Kicuna was a backward village that no one, except its residents, knew or cared about. The nearest school was an eight to twelve mile walk, round trip. As a child former Kicuna resident and ChristAid founder, David Mporampora, walked eight miles each school day.
The Change
ChristAid has helped other communities build schools, but with the opening of its ChristAid Academy, Kicuna has become a model village for the whole district. Our Ahadi Kids (those orphaned by the AIDS epidemic) in Kicuna now receive personal attention so they can excel and maximize their potential. And because it is run by ChristAid a large percentage of donations by faithful, generous supporters goes directly to help the children.
The completed academy can accommodate 600 to 1,000 elementary-age kids. Our dream is to move all our Ahadi Kids from public schools to the ChristAid Academy. Pray that God will expand this vision far beyond our imagination, so that we can help raise intelligent kids who know God. You can embrace this vision by donating generously to this cause. Donate online io the ChristAid Academy Project.

Soccer Project
Out of hopelessness many young people in Uganda resort to violent crime, prostitution and drugs because they lack education or employment. Generations are perishing because they drop out of school to loiter in villages, towns and cities hoping for change. Even those who graduate find themselves jobless due to corruption. Such conditions breed terrorism, organized crime and gangs.
ChristAid, in addition to helping the youth of Uganda through education, vocational training and career counseling, has organized soccer leagues to help them play together and keep their minds off their misery.
Construction has begun on a stadium, helped by a $2,000 donation from a dear American friend of the poor.
As a result of this effort crime has decreased significantly. Although it is not yet a world-class facility, the donor named it "GOLD MEDAL STADIUM" believing that soccer champions will be produced there. The home team calls itself "KICUNA UNITED." imitating England's highly successful "MANCHESTER UNITED."
More needs to be done. Plans for the stadium have been drafted. But there is a need for funds. Are you a soccer or sports enthusiast with a big heart? Do you desire to provide financial help? Donate online to the "Soccer Project."

Would like to coach a team or do you have soccer gear — jerseys, shoes and accessories — to donate? Or, imagine traveling to Uganda with your soccer team to play a local team. Email or call 303-463-2932. ChristAid makes all arrangements.
Water project
"And if anyone gives a cup of cold water to one of these in the name of a disciple, he will certainly not lose his reward" Mathew 10:42 (NIV)
A generous couple, Mike and Katherine Barry of Edwards, Colorado, took the above passage to heart. They were moved to make a generous donation to a water project that provides water to many families. It was not easy or inexpensive but with the blessing of the Barrys and other friends of ChristAid, the village is now pumping water from almost a mile away to four distribution centers. What was once a difficult and time-consuming task is no more.
The water project is truly living water which if anyone drinks, they will never be thirsty again. That is the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. Thanks be to God, and God bless the Barrys and all those who contributed to this life-saving project.
More needs to be done to expand the distribution capacity to at least 500 more people by building a 100,000 gallon tank on top of a hill so gravity will move the water. Also needed is a more powerful ram pump (non electric and uses no fuel) costing about $3500. Another $10,000 is needed for tank and pipeline construction. Make this your project. Give another cup of cold water, save more lives. Donate online to the "Water Project."
Livestock
A most useful and appreciated gift for any Ugandan family. Goats are $75 each, cows are $300 each and chickens are $25 each. ChristAid makes all the arrangements. Email or call 303-463-2932.
